RIVM
The Community Reference Laboratory (CRL) is a centre of expertise for analysis of biological residues produced by food-production animals for the presence of hormonal growth promoting compounds, sedatives and mycotoxins. Hosted by the National Institute of Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) in the Netherlands, CRL is the interface between the European Commission (dg SANCO) and National Reference Laboratories in the Member States.
CRL provides analytical support, documentation services and assistance with quality monitoring for residue testing programs. In addition, CRL organizes proficiency tests and workshops, and supplies analytical standards and reference materials.
These services are available to National Reference Laboratories in the EU Member States and other countries exporting food of animal origin to the EU.
